Summary/Abstract: On the basis of the Catalogue of the Bulgarian Folk-Tales, Sofia, 1994 (particularly the fairytale section) the author outlines the major types of fairytales with female orientation (with female protagonist). This typology is held through the morphological analysis of fairytales, introduced in folkloristics by Vladimir Рrорр. Within the Bulgarian fairytale tradition, retrospectively viewed to some 150-200 years ago, two basic groups of virtually female tales are defined: tales with а victim female protagonist and tales with а rescuer female protagonist.
