Summary/Abstract: This text presents the mythology of Orpheus on basis of mentions about him, what find in Pausanias’s Description of Greece. Article consists with three parts. First part tells about origin of Orpheus and his family. Second presents myths speaking about circumstances his deaths. Third shows acts his and event with his life. Singer's figure in Pausanias's work turns out unusually important for Greeks' consciousness and their culture. In opposite incident author would not dedicate him place in work so many.
