Summary/Abstract: This paper brings the first Polish translation of the Declamation 26 by Libanius (AD 314-393), the Syrian rhetor of Antioch, famous of his literary production in Greek. The foreword introduces into his life, school, and numerous writings, among others there are two imaginary speeches of the morose inhabitant of the fourth-century Athens (nos. 26-27 FOERSTER).
