The Soviet exit tourism in the 1950s-1960s: the social aspect

Summary/Abstract: Based on the unpublished materials, the article analyses the social and gender structure of the groups of Leningrad and Novgorod tourists visiting the countries of popular democracy in the 1950s-1960s. It is concluded that the Soviet exit tourism was one of the areas of the social policy of the USSR the realization of which did not all the time achieve the set goals.
