Summary/Abstract: In 1946 USSR representatives supported the UN General Assembly resolution on genocide in a belief that it was aimed against the defeated Nazi opponent. The resolution was also backed by other Soviet bloc states, although five years later Rafał Lemkin observed that the Soviet Union was the only country that could be accused of genocide.
