The Idea of European Citizen after the "Period of Reflection" and the Treaty of Lisbon

Summary/Abstract: The author analyzes the Reform Treaty and comes to the conclusion that there are changes in the concept of European citizen in it, in the sense that its democratic potential has been enhanced. In showing this the author relies on «pragmatic model» for understanding individual and collective identity as it was introduced in social science by sociologist Raymond Breton.
