Summary/Abstract: As a starting point in this article we take presumption that the role of upbringing can be entrusted only to the one who is himself well brought up, that only the one who is ready to accept changes can be capable of initiating the change and to motivate others towards permanent learning one has to practice permanent learning himself. It is pointless to discuss upbringing that can change the future if those who are upbringing will not be the embodiment of all the values that we want to see in the youth of tomorrow. The aspects of the character of a teacher that we need to observe in this context are numerous. In this article, however we tried to discuss the issue of professional education for teachers, or to use the terminology of educational management, directing knowledge at schools. The schools wherein teachers are trained for permanent learning in their profession are the only schools that are capable to offer young people the skills that are essential in meeting the needs of turbulent, fast-changing reality of tomorrow. We also pointed out here to the need for change in our schools, the significance of such a change and generally we discussed the importance of willingness to initiate such process in school that would bring about the change. We accented the process that carries with it a new and systematic approach towards the issue of permanent learning and training of the teachers who should become an image of a general school’s culture.
