Summary/Abstract: The director of the National Institute and Museum of Theatre History, the author of a number of studies in drama theory and history presents the theatre-historical and literary-historical reception of Shakespeare’s Hamlet from the publications of the period, through later interpretations to the detailed researches of twentieth-century Hamlet-conceptions, being attentive to the more important landmarks in the reception, in the renaissance playwright’s country, England in the first place.
