Summary/Abstract: The status of women in the society was significantly affected by their admission into the educational system (19th century) and labour market and furthermore by their active influence on the social life through their participation in elections (20th century). Considering the wider community, the employment of women significantly affects their involvement in social structures of the whole Euro-Atlantic society, and also other world. Equality for women is obviously different in various cultures. However, a current woman may reach the same as men in her career, and on the contrary, a man may substitute a woman in family care. Radical changes in traditional family patterns have taken place everywhere but they are not always carried out under the same conditions.
