Summary/Abstract: An article that considers the meaning and context of an early piece of writing by Jan Grossman, “Realismus integrálný” (Řád, 1943) through the actualization of a critical profile of the periodical Řád (edited by Jaroslav Červinka and Jaroslav Morák), recalling earlier writing by Grossman (the debate with Jiří Karen in the periodical Jitro, 1942) and also considering the reception at the time of the ideas of Maurice Blondel. The article is dedicated to Miroslav Červenka, who supervised the author’s dissertation “Jan Grossman: A Biography of Thinking (1942–48).”
