Summary/Abstract: Special studies on interrogative pronouns have been scarce. They were mainly treated in Albanian grammar books. The aim of this article is to give an overall view about interrogative pronouns that make up one of the basic elements in the structure of interrogative sentences. As known, interrogative pronouns play an important role in the structuring of these sentences of both direct and indirect interrogative sentences. Naturally, interrogative pronouns act together with other elements in the structuring of this type of sentences with intonation as another important element. The number of units composing the class of interrogative pronouns is very limited indeed, but their role in building of this type of sentences is very important. We may briefly say that interrogative pronouns have a dense use in both direct interrogative sentences and indirect interrogative ones. Most frequent among these units, as the analyzed material shows, are interrogative pronouns kush, cili and çfarë, ç’ in the subjective case appearing in the function of a subject.
