Summary/Abstract: The article discusses Priest’s non-transitive paraconsistent approach to identity paradoxes and sorites paradoxes, and presents the advantages of the approach. One of the article’s focuses is why transitivity should be preferred instead of Modus Ponens in modeling sorites and identity paradoxes. It is also made an attempt to be captured the common characteristics of identity and vagueness, which produce paradoxes, and are pointed out where they overlap. Another focus is on the legitimacy of identity paradoxes; in this regard is expressed the opinion that identity paradoxes are rather artificial if the characteristics that are important for identity are not defined.
