Summary/Abstract: An attempt is made in the present article to reveal in a certain degree the role of the social networks in the search and find of a job. The network strategy for a job search from economic active persons is determined by the different social networks’ parameters and the social subjects’ characteristics. The place and role of the strong and week connections is examined but an emphasis is placed on the second type. The proof of the formulated hypothesis regarding the priority use of the social networks in this process is based on the data received from the international comparative research carried out among students. The data concerns mainly our students in both degrees of education. The role of the social networks in search of a job from young people in a small town is considered, as well as the meaning of other strategies which direct the students towards reaching the placed goal – the secondary employment.
