Summary/Abstract: The purpose of this research was to determine possible differences in the aggressiveness and self-esteem between adolescents with parental care and adolescents without parental care. A total of 120 respondents from 11 to 16 years of age participated in the research. The aggressiveness of the respondents was examined by using the SIGMA 4/D questionnaire, while their self-respect was measured by Coopersmith Self-Esteem Inventory Test. Furthermore, a questionnaire was designed encompassing socio-demographic characteristics of the respondents. The research results show that adolescents with parental care and adolescents without parental care do not differ in the level of aggressiveness, but that they considerably differ in the level of self-esteem. Moreover, the results show that there is a considerable correlation between self-esteem and aggressiveness both in adolescents with parental care and adolescents without parental care.
