A Quantification of the Importance of Scientific and Technical Information

Summary/Abstract: The knowledge economy is characterized by the fact that knowledge and information are becoming a major driving force of socioeconomic development via the main production factors that determine the level of public wealth. This article solves the following task: to quantify the impact of STI volume on indicators of the country’s socioeconomic development, and to offer a way to include volumes of scientific and technical information in their capacity as additional arguments to the productive functions of the national economy . This article was prepared in accordance with the results of studies which were made via budgetary means in accordance with the thematic research plan for the Financial University, Moscow, in 2011.
