Summary/Abstract: For those of us that could support such freedom (Romanian Civil Code even uses the term „release” to define the state in which the debtor is not bound to pay its debt because, for example, he/she is in an accidental inability of execution), the lack of legal ties could mean an exit from the matrix and consequently, a different kind of happiness, a bleak, ascetic and isolating happiness theorized and practiced by ancient Stoic philosophers, the happiness of a man who owes nothing: Felix qui nihil debet
