Archival legislation to meet EU integrations

Summary/Abstract: Bosnia and Herzegovina is a potential candidate for EU membership. International obligation of our country is harmonization of legislation and therefore of archival legislation with standards applicable in the EU. This must me done to fulfill Stabilisation and Association agreement. EU implies modern archival service and expects adaptation to social changes in legal, technological and organizational terms. Modern archives must integrate traditional role as guardian of past times with active participation in life and as well in giving information. Bosnia and Herzegovina and also archival service in Bosnia and Herzegovina is facing a serious tasks and challenges regarding harmonization of legislation with EU legislation and adoption of EU norms.
