Summary/Abstract: All archival regulations, with the exception of the Law of the archival material and the Archives of Bosnia and Herzegovina, contain provisions on cultural and educational activities of archives (entity and cantonal). However, for more coherent activities of archives legislation should be more equalized, although the most important is that they are not confl icting each other. However, some ambiguity in terms of jurisdiction occurs in relation between Archives of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and cantonal archives, which is not the only case when it comes to cultural and educational activity of archives but also many other issues. This could be (and should) be changed by a new archival legislation. Another issue are cadre and material capabilities, traditions and preferences to engage in cultural and educational activities. In practice, it is a privilege only a few developed B&H archives have. Archival associations at all levels are an important integrative factor in all this.
