Summary/Abstract: Looking back at the Romanian compositional school - without tradition (having a delay of several centuries compared to the culture and especially the western European music) that occurred in the 20th century, we notice that it had a truly miraculous birth and development. It appeared at the same time with the extended phenomenon of the national schools at the end of the 19th century - the beginning of the 20th century, and it would align progressively to the western vanguard in order to detach finally from its context through its own ideas and achievements, which are extremely original. This originality was supported by the native data of the Romanian spirituality - contemplation, the vocation of purification and essential elements starting from the archaic sources of folklore, from painting and byzantine liturgy, the sculpture of Brâncuşi, the thinking of Mircea Eliade, the openings of Enescu's music. We assist to a review of each creator's contributions to the refreshment of the acoustic art of their age, making room for the renewal of the Romanian national school, meaning the appeal to folklore, which in those days, as it was natural, was more or less assimilated by many personalities, under constraint and isolation, by the intrinsic values of folklore, the quotation, the transfiguration and the processing of folklore.
