Summary/Abstract: The report applies Roland Barthes´s concept of modern myths and analyzes semantic transformation in the mythic narratives of the Battle of the Moravian field. It focuses on the transformation of a historical concept of loyalty into metahistorical concept of loss of masternarrative, present in Oldřich Daněk´s novel Král bez přilby (King without a Helmet, 1971).
