Summary/Abstract: Alarm systems have existed since ancient times. History shows many cases where ingenious technical combinations foretold guards about close hazards. In the current context in which crimes against property have seen a real resurgence, technical alarm systems are an effective means of protection against burglary. The author briefly describes the main operational features and principles of alarm systems.
