Summary/Abstract: The present article deals with the comparative content analysis of materials reporting events in Katunitsa in the 24 chasa and Standard newspapers during the period 24.09 – 24.10.2011. It establishes the pattern of article distribution during the period, studies the characteristic features of media language and outlines the scope of the media topics. The words and phrases used to name the events in Katunitsa are specified as well the synonyms signifying the parties in the conflict. The article also analyses parallels with historical events from the recent and distant past.
