Social dimensions of leisure and psychogeography

Summary/Abstract: Author makes a reconstruction of motivated visits to Rila Monastery, Bulgaria. The present paper is to define the pilgrimage as travelling and necessity of visiting sacred places. Farther, the idea of devotion to sacred place is situated in the field of symbolical, theoretical and cultural representations. The main presented results summarizing a research of travelling processes in the context of Bulgarian Orthodox tradition and text. Dynamics of social challenges and being under the influence of the past register the specifics of social reality and leisure that may be operating in the time of hyper-consumption.
