L’emploi et les valeurs de la famille du roum. fata dans les traductions de la Bible

Summary/Abstract: Our study relates to the use, in old Romanian translations, of the verbs ”a fățărnici”, ”a fățări” and of the nouns ”fățărnicie”, ”fățărie” in virtually all existing formal possibilities. The meanings of these words are: "being biased", "to simulate", "bias", "hypocrisy", meanings which all have, as a starting point, a concrete significance, which created an image that was progressively refined through abstraction and association of ideas. The cited sequences prove that practicaly the word pairs that were mentioned are in a relation of synonymy for the two types of meanings. On the one hand, the two terms of the same lexical familiy may compete, as they are able to convey the same meaning, on the other hand, each of them struggles not only for a more secure and stable position within the system, but also to remove the competitor word.
