The treasure of the last king

Summary/Abstract: The king’s treasure – one of the important treasure topoi and the main body of the treasure knowledge. Bearing in mind the dominant ideologeme, king’s treasure-kingdom in the context of the confirmation of a particular identity – the Bulgarian one, it could be noted that the king’s treasure preserves its vitality to a great extent through the idea of the transition time of the Bulgarian kingdom with a clear dynamics towards the last king’s treasure. The treasure is a substitute of the king (warrior)-hero, who has not died but has only fallen asleep so that he could wake up when required by his people and restore the order. And that is especially necessary and important for the critical and transitional situation the last king is in. His treasure, or the act of “hiding” himself in a cave together with his treasure, means the keeping of the secret of the king (warrior)-hero, whose royal initiation will develop in the following heroes of the ethnic warriors.
