Summary/Abstract: Plato was one of the greatest philosophers of Antiquity. Among his major concerns are the issues of education and educability. Although these approaches are not always very clear in Plato's philosophy, they have greatly influenced subsequent approaches to educational phenomenon. This study presents the main views of Plato concerning the role of education in society.
