Summary/Abstract: University Library "Svetozar Markovic" in Belgrade as an independent institution, officially opened to customers on the day of Saints Cyril and Methodius 24th May 1926th year, with a fund of about 30,000 books. One of the oldest and largest scientific libraries in Serbia, for which purpose built building. Mission is defined objective of their existence the University library “Svetozar Markovic”, which is primarily to meet the needs of the scientific and technical information of students and faculty of Belgrade University, and other citizens who have information needs at the academic level, collection, processing , storing and providing the use of information resources in paper and electronic form. The database of users, which is kept since 2003. , a total contains information on 19,808 customers. Students are the most numerous, they were 13,275, and over 700 customers a teaching staff of the University.
