Summary/Abstract: Poland and the future of the European Union. Address by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Radosław Sikorski, Berlin, 28 November 2011. Jan Barcz: Credibly and actively in the European Union These parts of the speech are about how to get out from the present crisis: not by depreciating the eurozone and re-nationalizing the European Union, but rather through increased coherence, effectiveness, and new competences — in other words, by reinforcing the Community method (now, the Union method). In this context, the Polish presidency’s role in having the six-passed is emphasized. Jerzy Kranz: Several comments on federalism and sovereignty in the context of the European Union Opinions about limited sovereignty and the need to regain full sovereignty, just as the splitting of sovereignty into, e.g., economic, cultural or military, actually distort the essence of the notion which of qualitative, not quantitative, nature. It is as indivisible as the notions of equality, dignity or justice. Paweł Świeboda: A visionary Poland Minister Sikorski’s speech has positioned Poland within a rare species of advocates of a deepening integration. Outside the six founding member states, Poland came as the first country with a federal vision of the future of integration.
