Public Debt as a Threat to Growth in Selected World Economies

Summary/Abstract: The main aim of this work is to determine the relationship between the level of economic growth and the level of public debt in selected countries around the world. An additional aim of the study is to establish the level and determinants of public debt in these countries. The data obtained show that an increase in public debt causes a decrease in economic growth in most countries around the world.
