Where Was Joniškis Burgomaster‘s Residence at the Beginning of the 18th Century?

Summary/Abstract: The review of poorly informative written sources of the 17th–18th centuries, conducted archeological researches and iconographic sources from the beginning of the 18th century allows to claim that in Karolis Magnus Stiuartas’ drawing (made in Joniškis in 1703) is depicted the burgomaster’s and some other rather wealthy town-dweller’s (he could have been some town officer) residences. Architectural similarities can be found in the structure of the buildings of neighbouring Kurshes and Eastern Balts kingdoms.
