Summary/Abstract: In his review, Gediminas Kazėnas evaluated the book Schlonzsku i nacionalizme by Tomasz Kamusella published in 2008. According to the reviewer, the book provides a glimpse to the region of Silesia and its ethnical problems from the minority perspective and reveals a number of details relating to nationalism in Poland. The book also unravels the aspects of historical discourses on the assimilation policy in Silesia enforced by Poland from the very end of World War II, which essentially determined the eradication of the German national minority in the region. It also deals with complex ethnicity issues of the region trying to answer how the region may be affected by the European integration in international-political sense. The reviewer recommends the book to anyone interested in the German-Polish relations, the region of Silesia and its ethnic-cultural issues.
