Style and discourse: similarities and differences

Summary/Abstract: The paper provides a critical interpretation of too broad, nontermological and trendy use of discourse in the linguistics and stylistics. The author emphasizes that the concept of discourse cannot replace and displace the notion of style because they are completely different concepts. The paper maintains that it is in the best interest of both, discourse theory and the theory of style, to determinate the clear distinction between these two terms.
