Summary/Abstract: The author considers the possibility of applying of the H.P. Grice’s cooperation principle to the study of scientific, in particular, humanistic discourses. It is worth noticing that the principle of cooperation in science contrasts with its paradigmatic system and with the competition of the different scientific groups, although the requirements of cooperation have in the scientific research a prevailing weight. The author shows the implementation in the scientific communication of the Grice’s maxims which concern four categories: quality, quantity, relation and manner.
