The Reception of the "Other": Nietzsche and Slovenian Literature

Summary/Abstract: The theme of the present article is the relationship between Nietzsche and Slovenian literature. As the word “Other” in the title suggests, the reception of Nietzsche in Slovenia was a complex one. Above all, it was burdened — at least in the first decades — with an a priori mistrust of Nietzsche’s philosophy. One of the reasons for this situation lies in the structure of Slovenian literature on the one hand, and of Nietzsche’s philosophy on the other.
