Summary/Abstract: In 1993 Milosz scared, "I cannot communicate with my generation since people that belong to it are either dead or hardly alive {...}." During the last twenty-five years of the writer's life, his dia¬logue partners were sometimes the contemporaries of his own children. Their views of the present epoch sometimes functioned as a catalyst for many of the attitudes of Czeslaw Mifosz toward the modern age. Of course, this cannot be said about all the dialogue partners; some of them were simply not interesting because the younger ones needed many explanations and had to be taught from the outset how to distinguish between historicism and modernity or they had to be guided, taken by the hand.
