Summary/Abstract: The personal recollections of the well-known English poet, Hungarian by birth, were written in English and published in The Hungarian Quarterly, Summer 2002. Into Hungarian it was translated for the Holmi by Mónika Mesterházi. Szirtes translated several poems of Ottó Orbán. Now, after the death of Orbán, he recollects their friendship and examines some characteristic features of Orbán's poetry.
