Summary/Abstract: The author gives a chronological account of the history of the nationalistic and rightist Organization of Yugoslav Nationalists (ORUJNA), from its beginning in 1921 until it was banned in 1929. The ORUJNA was established in Dalmatia on the initiative of the Democratic Party which for the next two years of its existence actively participated in fighting against national minorities, and pro-federalist and separatist tendencies in Croatia and Slovenia. The organization, however, was at a crisis point as early as 1923 because the authorities stopped their active support, and because of ideological disagreements caused by the changes on the political scene. During the forthcoming period internal conflicts ensued because of Svetozar Pribi}evi}’s aspirations to assume full control over the organization. Despite attempts to reorganize it during 1928 and 1929, the ORJUNA gradually disintegrated and the following year was officially banned together with other nationalistic organizations.
