Summary/Abstract: Today, social networks represent a social phenomenon that considerably changes the ways of communication. They are also the subject of research by numer-ous scientists who conduct their studies in order to understand the functioning, possi-ble outcomes, significance, and forms of activities of social networks users. There are numerous attempts to determine how they influence relationships between individuals or groups and which factors affect the choice of users to take part in such communication. There are numerous studies that examine the phenomenon of social networking and cover various topics, including the motivation for social networking. The aim of this study is to find out how students of the Faculty of Sport and Physical Education use social networking both from the aspect of general use of social networking and from the aspect of specialized use, related to their professional do-main of knowledge, i.e. sport
