Summary/Abstract: Poet and journalist, Mihai Eminesu has developed his European ideas from Romanian conception of the world and idea of unification with Europe as a unique organism. Due to his “europenism” (T. Maiorescu) he could show his inclination to elevation of Romanian culture on the world level, since he has also been a link between his precursors and his successors. This characteristic of his personality has been seen differently by many influential critics, but they all agree that thanks to it he could speak about great world themes such as life, death, world as stage, and things that makes the essence of one’s being (by Heidegger). Mihai Eminesu’s intellectual formation has been most influenced by universal lyrics and famous thinkers from different times, firstly from the Antique. In its essence, Eminesu’s personality presents the synthesis of all values formed in Romanian as well as in universal frames.
