Summary/Abstract: The existential trajectory that the Jewish population from the western part of Romania had to bear was, as Carol Iancu, said in his studies, that from exclusion to emancipation. But was it a linear track or an abrupt one, identifiable in a de profundis analysis of the intercultural communication mechanisms which occurred between the Romanian and the Jewish community? In this study, we will propose a frame for this subject and some possible answers. We also emphasise the fact that, beyond ethnical considerations, the contact between Romanian and Jewish people was dynamited ab initio by economical premises.
