Summary/Abstract: The review examines the monograph "Kazimieras Jelskis. 1782-1867" (Vilnius, 2003) by art historian Rūta Janoniene. The Lithuanian sculptor that worked on the verge of classicism and romanticism, has been employed also in eastern Latvia and thus significant for Latvian art history.
