Sociological approaches of the army-society relationship at the crossing of the millenium

Summary/Abstract: When passing from one millennium to another the main concerns of the military sociology revealed their own modalities through which sociology is reported to the processes and phenomena that characterize the Army at present. The analysis of the main directions presenting the military sociology studies, the highlighting of some aspects specific to a professional Army and the armysociety relationship, are mentioned in this article, their goal being to bring forward scientific approaches and generalizations of some recent investigation. For the Romanian Army, knowing the problems revealed by the sociological research is of great importance because of Romania joining NATO.
