Sustainable energy investments as support for local development

Summary/Abstract: The aim of the article is to present the significance of sustainable energy investments in supporting local development and the meaning of energy supply planning (obligatory for local government in districts) for the activity and decisions of energy enterprises. The author focused on strategies relating to energy sector and regional development and analyzed the regulations of Energy Law, which concerns responsibilities for local energy supply planning and cooperating with energy distribution companies. The conditions for the development of sustainable energy investments were presented as well as sustainable energy development perspectives in Lower Silesia.
