Summary/Abstract: Having fought in World War II, in poetry Vasile Militaru exemplarily takes the step between history as experienced and history as imagined. History is seen heroically, rulers and kings with lofty virtues are supported by the people through the country’s turning points. In his poetry, the values legitimated by history are the Romanian nation and national identity.
