Summary/Abstract: Due to scientific development and because a growing number of people have access to education, trust in politicians declines. This makes it easier to observe the more or less ethical tactics politicians apply to achieve their own interests. The actions of the political class are becoming increasingly subjected to media analysis, being also attentively observed by theorists and political activists. Noam Chomsky points out several issues occurring at the political level, pinpointing the methods used by political leaders to deceive or manipulate people. Nowadays, the intellectuals, who have access to information and higher education, are able to analyze more accurately power actions and, where it applies, its abuses. Chomsky’s research emphasizes the mismatch between what a political leader should be, what he represents and what he really is.
