Summary/Abstract: Peculiarities of using eloquent expressions in modern journalism continue to constitute a particular interest. The publicistic discourse together with colloquial speech reflect tendencies of the modern language development. The reasons for colourful expressions’ introduction into the texts (discourse) are different: emotive and expressive nomination of the phenomena characterizing the life of the society, individualization of speech etc.
