Summary/Abstract: The question of opening citizens secret files kept by different security services has become an important issue in the countries of Eastern and Central Europe after the collapse of the communist regime. The files that had been kept for political and ideological reasons were of particular significance as the people in question were either against the regime, or at least had different viewpoints.
