Summary/Abstract: The two perhaps most controversial thinkers of today’s French philosophico-theoretical scene, Alain Badiou and François Laruelle agree in their devotedness to the Project of re-claiming the Thought of the Radical, in spite of the critical difference between the two respective theories, consisting of the fact that the first invokes the radically philosophical (subscribing to a certain metaphysical tradition, i.e., Platonism), while the latter attempts to radically subvert any possibility for a philosophy.
