Summary/Abstract: The texts of Bulgarian folk songs, published in the famous book by the Miladinov Brothers in 1861 are object of research work in this article. Mainly, attention is paid to important verbal details, which characterize the nature of the women characters in the songs – maidens and wives: wealth, clothing, decorations, beauty, lineage, etc. It is proven that these types of “microelements” determine the specific aspect of the traditional Bulgarian town songs in the middle of the 19th century.
