Lessons from crisis – evolution of restructuring strategies

Summary/Abstract: The following economic crises strongly influenced the way in which all companies functioned. Although the following crisis has different reasons from the previous ones, companies usually implemented “verified” solutions. Most of them perceived the changes as threats and therefore undertook typically defensive restructuring actions. This means, above all, reducing tangible and intangible assets. The goal of these companies was to maintain the maximum profit by adjusting cost to the declining income. Nowadays a lot of companies undertake different restructuring activity which involve entering new markets, introducing new products as well as increasing or re-shaping the employment structure.
